“Ocean Excerpt” is a collection of re-purposed audio from the past two years or so. From the making of “Songs of Old” to the new album “June Gloom” that drops in Winter 2019, this album contains bits and pieces (excerpts) of sound that would otherwise probably go unheard forever.

The album contains excerpts from home practices, live shows, re-mixed studio material and chunks from both “Songs of Old” and “June Gloom”. “Ocean Excerpt” is kind of like a companion album to “June Gloom”. Meant to be listened to all the way through, it brings within itself, a very coastal vibe that attempts to define and sum up The Water as a project and the transitions it has gone through in the past couple of years. Not necessarily an"album" in the traditional sense, but it kind of is. The beauty of this one is that it IS whatever you allow it to be for yourself, personally.

"(Excerpt)" #5 is a jam of "Bertha" by the Grateful Dead with some reversed guitars creeping in and out.

Esther Chang plays cello on "(Excerpt)" #2, #3, #10.
Wesley Randolph Eader plays all the music that you hear on "(Excerpt)" #11.
